We have been with Mark and his staff for many years. Thankfully, we have not had any major claims, but one of my favorite things about them is that it doesnt matter what you have a need for, they are incredibly professional, efficient, and quick to respond. For example, even for a small window chip, their customer service is outstanding. I love supporting family owned businesses, and this is one that we will absolutely continue with and come to for all of our needs. It is very evident that even the staff who are not technically family are treated and feel like such. You just dont see that anymore.
We had used another company for our home and auto insurance for 50 years. When they closed their office we decided to change and stopped in to talk to Jake Melendy in Valparaiso. He was very informative and gave us just what we were looking for to meet our needs. We also spoke wth Mark Mercer, the manager and were very impressed with both of them. We highly recommend them and their staff.

Marks office was very good to us for many years, but about the last two years all they have done is raise our rate every time our policy renewed. I dont know if its corporate or what the issue is but its not fair to somebody who has a Very good driving record, credit history, and no claims or anything changing on the policy for rates to keep going up every six months. If theres that many people having wrecks amping our demographic they need to make them pay a lot more for their share and not punish those that never use their policies. Our cars are getting older and depreciating and we of course we are getting older, what happened to the good old days where your policy would get cheaper? When we pay all these premiums for all these years and never use our policy where is the reward other than a raised rate? Good bye Allstate FOREVER!
