Positives: strong margarita and tender steak in the fajitas. Salsa and queso were good. Service was fine although a bit spotty.Down side: chips were mediocre and cold. Table was dirty and crowded. Food did not come as listed with guacamole and sour cream. It had a slice of avocado and literally less than one bite of sour cream. First time here and will not visit again any time soon.
Had a party of about 10 people. The restaurant was crowded and very busy. It took a long time to get service and to be able to order our food/drinks. The restaurant it's self was very under staffed. I was disappointed in my to-go order, which the manager did correct and I got a 10% discount on my food order. Overall it was okay but definitely frustrating at times during my last experience there.
We left a tip and saw that they charged us an extra tip for the service on the receipt. The service was poor quality and got our order wrong. We definitely are not going back.
This review is for the Valparaiso location that we visit frequently. Always excellent service the last time we ate there we sat outside which is always a plus. The food is great and satisfying. We ate at the Portage location one time will never go back. The service was horrible the food wasn't up to par. The manager at the time just didn't care. Valpo location is where you need to go!
Unprofessional experience at El Salto's in Valparaiso. My friend and I waited for service almost an hour. Not even chips and salsa at the table. Finally had to go to the bar and order a drink. Then almost another hour before the food came... The manager possibly came to our table... but did not introduce himself as the manager. The bartender was asked if she could also wait tables !!! Really ??? Not ever going back again. : ( ****
